The ride home was quiet, Lolandra would not utter a word. I only watched as cars kept trying to overtake each other to free themselves from the slow moving Harvesting Equipment vehicle hindering the traffic. The two lanes would not continue all the way so everyone was in a hurry to get pass the Harvesting Equipment. Lolandra hurriedly passed the Harvester and two more cars behind her were speeding up to join the now one lane but one of the cars crashed into the one in front of it. Oh no, I screamed. Lola drove very fast before they could crash into our car, everything happened very fast. I watched as one of the cars went off the road into the ditch. Lolandra pulled over since there were no more cars coming behind us. I hope no one was hurt? Lolandra opened her mouth after a long silence. We called the police and alerted them of the accident hoping that the ambulance would arrive in no time. I brought out my camera and ran back to the accident scene to cover the story. One of the drivers was badly injured on the leg and bleeding, I pulled off my jacket and bound his leg with it to reduce the blood flow. Soon enough the ambulance arrived. We went back to the car and continued our journey.
Lolandra was still very sad and would not say a word. This was a wrong time to interrogate her about what happened at Zack's place. While I was deep in thought wondering who that fellow that got her running away was, my phone rang. It was Angela, where are you? I put the phone on speaker so Lolandra could hear. Lolandra motioned with her hands and asked me not to tell. I pretended that the network was bad and said I was going to call back.
What if he wanted to know if we were safe since the accident just occurred? I asked Lolandra. She only said, you would not understand.
We got home and Lolandra started packing her stuff immediately into her big suitcase. I am leaving town immediately, she said. To where? I asked her. If you are leaving, I am going with you, I said.
Who the hell is that man at Zack's place? I yelled at her. Telling you will get you into trouble, it is better you are not a part of this. She was in tears again.
There was a knock at the door and I went to look who it was, It was Bill, our neighbour. What the hell does Bill want, not now, I said. I have a new story I would like you to see, he said. I jammed the door at him and said not now.
Should I leave with Lolandra and get myself mixed up in whatever it was her problem was or would I be safe if I stayed back. Staying back would not be safe for me either since they knew I was in the scene.
I am leaving with you, I said to Lolandra.

To be continued........
