Face It (Part 2)

Anita had a gloomy face in class the next morning. She was deep in thought and made no meaning of what the Mathematics teacher was saying, Anita was absent minded. After class she saw Alex with a group of three other guys smiling wierdly as they saw her approaching. These guys were also at the party that night. They were obviously enjoying whatever Alex might have told them. This humiliated her even more since she would keep seeing all of these guys in class because they were all course mates.

She was willing to keep what happened that night a secret but was Alex going to do the same?

She decided that she was going to finally confront Alex and end this madness so she can live her life.

That evening she intentionally decided to cook dinner. She hadn't cooked since the incident happened. She went to the shop and picked up some groceries.

She prepared one of her favorite meals, oven baked Salmon with potatoes and sour cream cavier sauce to go with it.

She had a glass of freshly pressed orange juice.

Alex seem to notice that she was in the kitchen and stayed away to give her some space.

When she finished her meal, she freshen up and knocked at Alex's door. Who is it? He asked. Anita replied that it was her. He opened the door and Anita asked if he could come over to the kitchen that she needed to have a word with him. Alex agreed and went with her to the kitchen.

They both stood close to the refrigerator and Anita cleared her throat. This was the first time she was taking a good look at Alex. Alex had some very interesting facial features, his eyes were greenish in colour and the mustache on his upper lip was neatly trimmed.

I want you to understand that what happened that night was a mistake, Anita said lowering her eyes to his chest area. Alex moved closer to her. Anita froze and could hardly utter more words. She felt Alex's hands around her face as he gently lifted her face. Anita looked up at him and their eyes locked for a few seconds and Alex gently said, go on. She got a hold of her emotions and slightly moved back. I am in love with someone else, Alex smiled at her and said okay. I am sorry about that night, it was the alcohol, he said. If it would help I can arrange for you to switch room with Frank. I noticed you haven't been cooking, he said. That would be nice, Anita said. She wanted anything that would take her far away from Alex.

Please promise me that you would not say a word of this to my boyfriend, he would be coming next week. Alex promised and understood that Anita was truely in love with someone else.

The next morning Frank called Anita asking when he could move in. They both agreed that Saturday would be fine. Frank was happy that he and Alex would be flatmates as they have been friends from childhood. Anita called Steve and asked if he could come in two weeks instead that she had an assignment that she needed to take care of, Steve agreed. This would give Anita enough time to complete her move to Frank's room

Anita and Frank agreed to go to the housing company and explained that they wanted to switch room due to Anita's difficulty to climb stairs. She lied that she had a knee injury that made climbing stairs difficult. Since Frank who lived in the ground floor had agreed to switch room with her this made it easier for the housing company. Their names on the housing contract were switched and Anita thanked the kind lady.

On a Saturday morning, Anita moved into Frank's room and Frank moved into Anita's.

Anita had to lie to everyone who asked her that she had a knee injury.

Anita lighten up and became a regular student again. She put what happened that night behind her and promised herself never to get drunk again. One bottle of beer or one glass of wine and that's it.

She picked up her phone and called her Dad and told him how well she was doing and loved her new school.

Steve visited as he promised and Anita never mentioned anything about that night with Alex to him. Anita and Steve had a good time together, Anita loved Steve even more, showering him with so much love.

Alex stayed away and soon got a girlfriend.
