Colourful Life

Updated: Oct 27, 2020

The beauty of colourful flowers popping up gives a renewed energy after a long winter. Ester planted a few new tulips last year and was greeted with more than double the number this spring. Her front yard was adored by the beauty of various colours of tulips. She often took some time in the evenings to look at them. One could not miss taking some photos to keep the memory. This beauty tends to close up during the dark and opens up elegantly during daylight. The tulip carries itself with such pride that one could not but notice it.

It was often the first in Ester's garden to tell you that the winter was over and the spring on its way. When you spot a tulip's sprout you are certain about an accurate prediction which cannot be floored.

Ester usually added new perennial flowers to her garden each year. With some flowers you get to see them blossom the same year, while with others you need to wait until the next year to see its true beauty. It is often worth the wait. Roses are very selective of soil type and location. Ester added some pink roses last year.

She plants flowers such that her garden remained colourful until late autumn. She often included flowers that attracted butterflies and bumble bees to give it a true touch of nature.

She made sure to select some flowers that blossomed in the spring, others during the summer and another set during the autumn. This way her garden was always beautiful to look at. Her garden was like an adventure, friends and family often requested to visit to behold its beauty.

Some of her spring to early summer flowers were flowers that required midly damped to damped soil and less sunlight such as Lamprocapnos, Trollius, Iris sibirica, Hosta, Monarda didyma, Tulips, Lysimachia nummularia, Astrantia major, Lythrum salicaria, Lily of the valley, Helleborus niger, Vinca minor, Corydalis, Leucanthemum vulgare, Pulmonaria officinalis, Bergenia crassifolia, Helleborus orientalis, Iris chrysographes, Narcissus pseudonarcissus, etc.

Flowers added colour to her and her family's life and improved their wellbeing.
